Sun Ridge Environmental, a division of Sun Ridge Contracting Ltd., is looking for a Hydrovac Operator to join our growing Environmental team. This individual will be responsible for operating units to perform the excavation activities associated with pipeline, construction, and utility work.

Responsibilities:

• Drive and operate the SRE hydrovac trucks to and from job/client sites and to perform duties in a variety of working environments, including confined spaces
• Prepare work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards
• Attend and participate in safety meetings
• Document and report all SRE, federal, provincial, and customer paperwork accurately and efficiently
• Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance of the hydrovac equipment
• Understand and abide by company policies and procedures.

Abilities:

• Operate hydro trucks through varied terrain and all weather conditions
• Understand and comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours, and occupational health and safety
• Working knowledge of and ability to operate an Electronic Logging Device and digital safety management software
• Professionalism – Accountable, dependable and maintains confidentiality. Commitment to ethics, integrity, and confidentiality. High energy and ability to manage stress.
• Ability to travel and work variable shifts with extended hours.

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with airbrake endorsement
• Clean drivers abstract
• First-aid, H2S alive, and ground disturbance preferred
• 3+ years’ experience with Industrial vacuum truck and excavating experience
• Must be able to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions
• Customer service focused.
